Description: This fast-paced, half-day symposium convenes leading utilities, vendors, consumer advocates and researchers in a working conversation to advance strategies for empowering and engaging consumers.
Why attend: Partnering for Progress is a must-attend event for anyone delivering smart grid programs, products or services to consumers and for anyone representing consumer interests.
All registrants will receive a free copy of the SGCC’s State of the Consumer 2011 Report, an integrated analysis of the common themes from more than two dozen major research studies (many not available to the public).
Reception: A cocktail reception underwritten by Silver Spring Networks, Oracle and GridWise Alliance will follow the event, providing opportunities to network, explore SGCC membership, and continue the inspirations and conversations started throughout the day. (5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.)
Registration: Open to both SGCC members and non-members. Member registration is $125. Non-member registration is $175. Media may attend at no cost. Register through Distributech 2010 or SGCC.

Judith Schwartz of To the Point and Research Director of SGCC will present highlights of the
SGCC’s State of the Consumer report. Building on a comprehensive body of consumer research, this report provides a snapshot of consumer awareness of the Smart Grid today and identifies consistent patterns and insights that can inform
and accelerate consumer acceptance and participation. Our panel of industry experts will examine the findings and interpretations in the context of their own work and deep experience in the field.

Finding our Panda – 4 creative briefs in 45 minutes
In October of 2010, frog design and SGCC kicked off an initiative to identify a brand+symbol for the energy conscious consumer. Starting with a ThinkIn hosted in their global headquarters of San Francisco, the program is currently on a roadshow to conferences and boardrooms in order to engage the industry and the public in envisioning an explainable and embraceable Smart Grid. David Merkoski and Sara Todd will present the fruit of their work – both the concepts and the necessary next steps – to help those of us in this industry move forward in connecting with consumers and evolving our offerings.
