In July and August 2012, the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative asked over 1,000 low income consumers nationwide to weigh in on the subject of smart grid. The results of these in-depth telephone surveys are now available in a report, Spotlight on Low Income Consumers, which can be downloaded here. A supplement to SGCC’s ongoing Consumer Pulse and Market Segmentation survey series, the latest report sheds light on low income consumers’ awareness, favorability, and understanding of smart grid.
How much do low income consumers know about smart grid and smart meters compared with the general population, as surveyed last year in SGCC’s Consumer Pulse and Market Segmentation Study Wave 2? How do these consumers’ interest in dynamic pricing and pay as you go programs compare or contrast with those of their peers? Do their communication preferences and behaviors differ? Find all of these questions and more answered in SGCC’s Spotlight on Low Income Consumers report.
