Patty Durand Executive Director Patty joined Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative in January of 2011 as our first Executive Director. Before coming to SGCC, she worked for Georgia Tech, where she focused on smart grid research projects and helped to submit almost $10 million in grants to ARPA-E and DOE. Before that, she served as the Executive Director for the Georgia Chapter of the Sierra Club where she focused on energy policy and programs. Patty also serves on the Board of the Smart Grid Society for the Technology Association of Georgia. |

Laura Hernandez Communications Coordinator Laura began as SGCC’s Communications Coordinator in October 2011, after a two-month project upgrading the organization’s social media outreach. She manages SGCC’s public relations, membership services, consumer education, and conference appearances. Laura graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, where she studied international affairs and speech communication. |

Ivonne Moody Research Director Ivonne joined Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative in November 2011 bringing her passion about building a modernized grid with consumers in mind. Ivonne is responsible for capturing the voice of consumers, sharing key learnings with stakeholders and drawing implications for designing and developing a smarter grid. Before joining the SGCC, she was a senior marketing research consultant with Lunt Associates, Inc. responsible for managing the consumer research functions of several clients ranging from TXU Energy to Procter & Gamble. |

Greg Schwartz Operations Manager After working with former Georgia Chapter of the Sierra Club’s Executive Director Patty Durand as Development Coordinator, Greg joined SGCC and Patty in January 2011 as Operations Manager. He manages SGCC’s website, finances, emails, and distribution lists, operational resources and other various projects. Before his time at the Sierra Club, Greg graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with concentrations in International and Financial Economics. |

DeMika Thomas-Hill Administrative Coordinator DeMika joined SGCC as Administrative Coordinator in November 2011. As part of the SGCC team, she works on member relations, charting SGCC meetings, and helping coordinate SGCC events, and generally being extremely helpful. DeMika comes to SGCC with a lengthy background in non-profit and has extensive experience in training and event planning. Prior to joining SGCC, she was the Event Coordinator/Administrative Assistant at Operation Step-up Inc., where she worked to create college scholarships for students in need. She also created a program in Cincinnati, Ohio where she tutored inner-city students in Mathematics. DeMika received her degree from Miami University of Ohio in Social Science. |
